“Ah, music,” he said, wiping his eyes.
“A magic beyond all we do here!”
– J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone)
Now that The Most Magical Secret – 4 Weeks to an Ecstatic Life has been released, people are discovering how just the right music combines with the other techniques from the book to create a powerful, stimulating, and positive outcome. I’ve also written about this before in these blog posts (so take a look):

Ancient Magic, Modern Tools™ – 60 Minutes to Rapture

The prior posts involved placing music into categories and taking the time to mindfully select the tunes that best represent your various life themes. Today, I want to make this simpler and share with you a more general playlist; one that you can use just as I’m going to outline or one that you can use as a springboard for creating your own compelling soundtrack.
Before I share my personal list with you, take a moment and consider the music you routinely listen to on a daily (or perhaps weekly) basis. Most of the time, we listen to songs that are selected randomly (or perhaps not so randomly) for us by programmers, radio hosts, and advertisers. We just experience the music that’s fed us and let it soak into our heart and soul without any type of filter or vetting of the content. Every now and then one of those nasty ear worms shows up—you know . . . the song that keeps playing over and over in your head and stubbornly refuses to leave. Most of the time, those ear worms aren’t preselected by us.
Imagine how much more powerful and effective that music would be if you started choosing the theme songs for you life. In fact, in my book, I talk about how easy it is to reprogram and rewrite and reinforce your thoughts, emotions, and daily living with music. All you do is create a playlist that you choose to listen to at a chosen time in order to make it the most effective for you.
For today, I simply want us to start easily choosing better music to listen to. In making your selections, I want you to decide upon songs that seduce you, inspire you, and change the way you feel and see things. You don’t need to worry about choosing music for any particular life theme (as I did in the prior posts outlined, above). For this exercise, you’re just going to select those songs that—no matter when you hear them—turn you on and get you going!
Here’s the list of my current power songs to get you started:
I’ve Been This Way Before (Neil Diamond)
Batman Evolution (The Piano Guys)
Lift the Wings (Bill Whalen)
Highwayman (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristoferson, Waylon Jennings)
George Bailey (Jana Stanfield)
I Want it All (Queen)
Return to Innocence (Enigma)
Glitter in the Air (Pink)
Hallelujah (k.d. lang)
Show Me the Way (Styx)
Let Me Fall (Mathieu Lavoie)
Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What a Wonderful World (Israel Kamakawiwo’ole)
Bring Me to Life (Evanescence)
Roar (Katy Perry)
Hall of Fame (The Script)
Burn (Ellie Goulding)
Homegrown (Zac Brown Band)
Hold on Tight (Greg Holden)
Hymn #35 (Joe Pug)
Kingdom of Your Own (Matthew and the Atlas)
Tomorrow Never Comes (Zan Brown Band)
Love the Century (The Elders)
If you want to take this to the next level do this >>> After you create your collection of power songs, select ONE OF THEM to be your go-to song for empowerment. Can you guess which of the foregoing is my go-to song?
Once you work through all this on your own, you’re going to find that music is one of the strongest forms of your personal Magic!
