Today I want to offer you a mental construct – an active imagination technique – that focuses on your personal life force but relies completely on your ability to form a mental image. What follows is a technique you might want to use as an adjunct to your current method for staying healthy. It is a way for you to visualize the energy field that surrounds and flows through you. The most important part of this powerful technique is to approach it with a sense of fun and adventure.
Personal energy is something we all want more of. It is one of those holy grails that, eventually, we all seek. Even religions and spiritual practices have been formed around the energy that runs within and among and between all things. In fact, health care professionals and alternative medicine practitioners have diligently explored whether vivid, powerful, in-the-moment imagination and hypnotic techniques can be used to modify energy flow in the body and diminish, if not cure, certain ailments. To that end, some of you might find the following article inspiring:
Whether you are vibrantly healthy or have some health challenges, positive imagination techniques certainly have the potential of supplementing (NOT REPLACING) your current staying healthy regime and the recommendations and dictates of your health care provider. This technique is intended to inspire you and provide you with a way to focus your hearty imagination. At the very least, this is a wonderful coping technique and another way of reducing stress.
THE SCREEN PROTECTOR FOR YOUR SOUL TECHNIQUE
STEP ONE. Find a comfortable place to sit or recline. You don’t want to fall asleep. You want to be actively engaged in this imagination technique so that you can interact with the visions that are received and created. Only use this technique when it is safe to do so. Obviously, you should not practice this method while driving, operating machinery, or anytime when it is not safe to do so.
STEP TWO. Take some deep, cleansing breaths and consciously relax your body from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
STEP THREE. Close your eyes. Notice how you feel. Realize that you are in a place where, for the moment, no one needs you to do anything. There are no demands upon you. You are floating, and drifting, and sinking in the radiance of your own energy.
STEP FOUR. Imagine that there is a shield or field of energy that surrounds your body. Think of it as the equivalent of your cell phone’s screen protector. And just like that screen protector, you want the shield or field to be clear and smooth. In other words, you don’t want there to be any bubbles or bumps or imperfections in your energy field. See yourself and feel yourself completely encircled by this field. Take all the time you need to notice how it feels, how it sounds, and what it is saying to you.
STEP FIVE. Now direct your attention to the texture of your energy field. Notice the places that it is clear and smooth. How does that feel? Notice the places where there are bubbles or discoloration? How does that feel different? Don’t attempt to fix anything. This is the getting realI phase. You are simply noticing the condition of your protective field.
STEP SIX. Go back to those areas that were bubbled, bumped, or discolored. In real life, bring your hands up in front of you (your eyes are still closed). For each area that has an imperfection, use your fingers and primarily your thumbs to slowly press against your energy field’s surface. That’s right, you are using your real hands to interact with your imagined energy field. Continue to apply pressure with your fingers or thumbs as you massage the bubbles and bumps out of your protecting field. Perhaps you are using your hands to shine and clean the field, as well. Go with your intuition on what needs to be done. Just make certain that you are actually taking your hands, fingers, and thumbs through the actual manipulations needed. Take as long as you need to smooth out your energy field.
STEP SEVEN. Once your energy field has been rendered smooth and clear once again, notice what’s different. How do you feel now? Are you more focused or more energetic? Do you feel better or do are you more relaxed? Are you calm or feeling powerful?
BONUS STEP EIGHT. Return your attention and intention to any specific area where you are feeling discomfort in your body. Repeat Step Six just for that specific area or areas. Even if you don’t see any bumps or bubbles, work on that imaginary energy field, anyway, and make certain that it is smooth and clear.
You have the power of ultimate creation by using your imagination. Naturally, you can take all these steps and make them even more powerful by using suggestion and self-hypnosis to enhance the experience.
