Thinking Magically™ | 6 Steps to Conquer Your Core And Revitalize Your Vision

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

                                                                            – Carl Jung

There are three things that I insist upon when I work with people – steadfast consistency, credible communication, and a brave vision. These three elements taken together are a sort of faithful alchemy that help you ensure sustainability, competence, and control in any situation. Generally, obtaining a steady, stable consistency and establishing a coherent, dynamic chain of communication are rather straightforward. However, what do you do to bring an enchanting vision to yourself, to others, and to your business? And, once your vision has been achieved, how do you motivate yourself and others to another powerful inspiration? That’s what we’re going to explore together in this offering.

Let’s start with a valuable presumption that I make all the time (it’s my imagination at work, after all); namely, I believe everyone experiences a turning point – both in their personal lives and in their businesses – when they discover that their imagination is the most intoxicating and formidable quality they have. You might be spectacularly skilled or talented and have a charming way with words or deeds, but your creativity and ingenuity constitute a transformative core that gifts you with resilience, inspiration, and makes you irrepressible. I want you to learn to model this extreme state of resourcefulness so that it can help you manifest at any time you wish!

We begin with an understanding that, when you are ready, you can always be creative! It is when your mind finally acknowledges that it has this capacity every moment of your life that the future and all its options open up for you. It is at this moment of appreciation that you suddenly find you are able to easily access abstract, original, and empowering thoughts and unmistakably bring them to fruition. When this occurs, you immediately treasure the responsibility and the potential of which you have always been capable.

Ready to get started?

STEP 1.  Welcome the fact that anything you have accomplished started first in your imagination.

Really think about this for a moment. Even when you were first learning to roll over, then to crawl, and ultimately to walk, you first conjured up the vision that such things were possible. All through your life, you have – whether from modeling someone else or being inspired on your own – summoned up the vision that something was possible. It was that illusion in your own mind that ultimately propelled you to make your fantasy an actuality.

STEP 2. Take responsibility for the choices you make and accept the power for contributing to a healthy you.

In order for you to bring your spellbinding visions to life, you have to appreciate three indispensable elements to such visions:

1.  Why you want to manifest something.

2.  Who you are manifesting something for.

3.  What your vision for the future is.

Take a piece of paper and write out these three elements with as much specificity as you can muster. Then notice how much more comprehensible and attainable your vision actually feels!

STEP 3. Create a Big Hairy Audacious Goal!

The term Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) was created by Jim Collins and Jerry Porras in their 1994 book Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies. Simply put, you use your creativity and imagination to make up a long-term goal that is not just unusual, but one that is captivating and emotionally intoxicating. In other words, you conceive of a vision of your future that is so irresistible that it takes over your thinking and your emotion so that your conscious and unconcious minds have no choice but to bring it into existence. This is not a vision that you keep testing to see if it excites you. This is not a dream that you keep investigating with the hope that one day you will act on it. Rather, you are creating a holy grail for your current life’s work, a potent and vigorous purpose, that you must accomplish and failure is not an option.

STEP 4. Devote yourself to your vision.

The affluent and successful people in life do not wait for windfalls and blessing to be handed to them – they go after them with a vengeance! Once you are seduced by your dream, immediately start taking steps that will manifest that fantasy. Soon, your dream won’t be a dream any more – it will be reality.

STEP 5. Be ready to change course.

Changing your mind is not a flaw nor a fault. As you continue in the direction of your dreams, there may be times when the original vision doesn’t serve you well anymore. You will know when the dream starts shifting into a new goal. If the new goal seems even more compelling and even more potent, then embrace the new direction with as much passion and enthusiasm as your original goal. Be ready to transform even more as things get shaken up a bit. Remember, positive change brings you the competitive edge and outcomes you are seeking.

STEP 6. Rinse. Repeat.

Whether you are changing course towards a new dream or you have accomplished your original goal and now need new inspiration, the first 5 steps should be repeated early and often. Always remind yourself to dream when you can, not when you must! And, always allow your dreams to serve you well.
